Crew Interviews - Dyson

How did you get the job at Soccer AM?
I did a Journalism degree at Sheffield Uni, and then sent my CVs to everybody! Luckily for me, Sky were the only people who got back to me! I then had an interview with Tim and Fenners, and seriously considered doing the old school boy error handshake on Tim! Decided against it in the end (good job I reckon!)

How long have you been working for the show?
This is my 4th season .

What exactly is your job description?
I'm one of the Assistant Producers, and basically look after most of the football related items such as the goals, the little funny clips we show around the goals, Showboat etc. I also do Yorkshire News, and of course, phone my good friends at UEFA and FIFA!!!

What were you doing before Soccer AM?
At uni doing my journliasm degree, and also worked part time at the Press Association, writing football reports on Serie A and La Liga matches. Quite cool really! As soon as I finished, I was back in Grimsby driving frozen fish and chicken around factories!!

If you weren't working on the best show on tv, what do you think you would be doing?
Watching it! But probably be working at some dodgy local radio station back home in Grimsby.

Any plans to stake a claim for a regular Dyson feature on the show (like Tubes)?
Mark my words, Yorkshire News will slowly take over Soccer AM....

Whos your best friend at Soccer AM?
None of them. They're all idiots. I spend most of my time watching the clock until I can go home.

Do you browse the SoccerAM.net forums at all?
Yeah, quite a lot. I like to see what webcam pictures people have found - usually involving Tubes having a mental breakdown!

What are your favourite websites?
I like the mediawatch on Football365, and rely a lot on things like Soccerbase and Soccernet etc. I also like The Onion, pretty funny.

Who do you support and how often do you get to games?
I'm a Manchester United fan, and obviously don't get to go to many games now because of work. I used to go with my Dad when we lived back in Grimsby.

Whos the hardest worker on the crew?
Neil.

Do you have any funny or embarassing stories about other crew members? If so, please expain!
Just Robbie's piles. I've never seen a grown man in so much pain and discomfort, which for me, was very amusing!

And there are generally a fair few stories from Soccer AM nights out. Rocket's attempted crowd surfing at Hard Fi's gig last night was pretty funny. Plus Fenners leading a good old sing along at 3am outside the club was quality too.

What kind of music do you like? Whats your favourite band?
Mainly indie stuff. I hate it when people say they've got an eclectic taste in music! It usually means they own a "Now That's What I Call Hip Hop 2005" CD. My musical taste is very bland and very obvious! I like Oasis, The Stone Roses Kasabian etc etc. The usual really!

Lovejoy or Chamberlain?
No comment.

Tubes or Rocket?
Tubes. Rocket is rubbish, and should be sacked.

Robbie or Neil?
Robbie - only because he sorted out our Christmas booze up at the Hard Fi gig last night!

Whos funnier Fenners or Lovejoy?
Fenners is funnier to look at.

Who writes the better gags Fenners or Lovejoy?
It's kind of a comedy duo I suppose. So I don't think one is better than the other.

Who came up with the Wrestlers idea?
The Greeks I think.
